Adword analyzer runs under Windows 98, ME, 2000 & XP. It's available at around $67 as a small 2.7MB file that is instantly downloaded.

Upgrades to the software are free to existing users.

It comes with a 90 day full 100% money refund guarantee if you don't want to continue to use it .. but I don't think that's likely.

It's an easy program to install, to learn and use. Once run first go to Data centers in the toolbar, select 1 of the 11 data centers for Google then 1 of the 11 for Overture. Then type in your keyword phrase in the "for Keyword" box.

Then just click on search, sit back, watch the results appear on the screen. Of course you must connect to the Internet because it needs to access the Overture and Google data centers.

When its completed the query, which doesn't take long, depending on the speed of your connection, it displays a spreadsheet type of layout. There are six columns with as many rows as the keyword phrases it finds.

The 1st column's a keyword phrase variation, based on what's typed in.

The 2nd column "Searches" gives the queries made on keyword's &/or keyword phrases in the past month on the Overture data center selected.

The 3rd column "Results" is the quantity of other web pages/sites using those keyword's. Put a tick in the "quotes" box and it returns the number of sites/pages that use the complete keyword phrase.

The 4th column "R/S" is a ratio of Results divided by Searches. You want keyword phrases with high searches but the lowest level of competitors or results. These are keyword phrases that have a low R/S ratio.

Generally look for keyword phrases with an R/S no more than 150, but the lower the better.

The 5th column "Google Campaigns" shows the quantity of adword PPC adverts on the Google data center selected that use the keyword's. Clicking on the number displayed will take you directly to the Google page it found.

The 6th column "Overture Campaigns" shows the number of PPC adverts on the Overture network or data center selected that use the keyword's.

The maximum number of PPC campaigns reported is 40, but it does give higher numbers than this. Clicking on this number will take you directly to the Overture page it found.

Whether you chose to run a query with the "quotes" box ticked has a major impact on the results.

For example a query on 'child toy' without the quotes box ticked produced 100 relevant keyword phrases and 32,352 searches in the past month on just the keyword's "child toy". It also reported almost 2.5 million other web pages ( 2,450,000 ) having these same keyword's.

A query on "child toy" ( quotes box ticked ) produced the same 100 relevant keyword phrases with the same 32,352 searches on "child toy". But now only 82,700 other pages had the same keyword's, as a complete phrase "child toy".

Quotes ticked or not ticked is important for this keyword analyzer.

By clicking on anyone of the column headings the results can be sorted in ascending or descending order. I tend to want to see the results initially sorted by "Searches" in descending order, so I click on the "Searches" heading to get the highest result at the top of the page.
