Improved Search Engine Rankings - Part 1

Improved search engine rankings with a software analyzer / optimization program. This analyzer ( rankings ) tool looks at Keyword Density in all areas of a web page that add to improved search engine rankings.

The keyword density analyzer is the GRKda software application. This analyzer along with 3 others was covered in Keyword Density - Getting the Right Result.

You may also find that article of interest because it shows the degree to which results can vary between different analyzer's & improved search engine ranking tools.

The GRKda keyword density analyzer comes as a very small, instantly downloadable 348KB file, costing $99. The version discussed here is V2.1.

Once installed this keyword density analyzer is fairly easy to use with just four main windows each accessible through tabs as Options, Analysis Options, Compare and Statistics.

At first the program did not behave in the way I expected and the limited help file did not explain as clearly as it could how to use the program.

I've used 100's of programs and consider myself something of a software guru, but even so, it took me some time to get use to the program.

However once use to what it expects, everything went more smoothly.

The options tab allows you to set up other applications to use for opening files, like Notepad as a text editor, or to view the page being analyzed in an HTML editor.

The Analysis Options window allows you to control areas on a page the analyzer will look for words & keyword's, what to allow and disallow.

You can also set it to ignore words below a certain number of characters. This is because in search engine rankings a filter is used to ignore common words like "it", "the", "a", "and" etc.

In the Compare window you can add web page files to the analyzer, but they must be located on your computer. By clicking on a file then dragging and dropping it to a new position you can sort the list of loaded files into another order.

By entering a keyword or phrase it will analyze all the files loaded, looking for the keyword phrase in each file in a logical 'OR' mode or 'AND' mode.

In other words in 'OR' mode it looks for any occurrences of a word in the phrase and in 'AND' mode it looks for all words in the phrase, equivalent to searching for an exact match.

In this analyzer window you can see and compare at a glance the keyword density in each web page file loaded. Also the number of times the keyword's appear in the Title, Link Text, Header, Meta Tags for Keywords & Description, the Body content, Alt tags and any URL Links.

By double clicking on any file you go straight to the Statistics window where you can see a detailed breakdown of the percentage word density for every word in the page.

You can also see the total word count and the word count of every word in the page in all the same areas given in the Compare window.

By clicking on the column headers you can sort the columns to display results from highest to lowest count, or lowest to highest or for the words, alphabetically.

It's also possible to load a file directly into the Statistic window without using the Compare window.

The results can be printed, exported to the clipboard or saved to a text file or a csv file for further analysis in a program like Excel.

In either the Compare window or the Statistics window a selected file may be opened with any of the external applications set up under the Options tab.
